A pet portrait commission can be a great gift for family members and friends or the perfect way to commemorate a deceased pet. J.P. Marsh is an award-winning illustrator based in North-East England, specialising in painting animals and wildlife. These commissions are painted using acrylic gouache on 300gsm watercolour paper. J.P. Marsh's signature style gradually builds up thin textured layers of paint, which allows the artist to capture your pet's unique markings and coat.
Pet Portrait Commissions
Step 1
Use the contact form on this page to outline your commission request. I will respond to your message, and we will work together to decide a final size and composition for the artwork based on pictures of your pet.
Step 2
Once we have agreed on the size, price and goal for the commission, I will send you a payment link. Once the artwork has been paid for, I will send you a series of rough sketches. You then get to chose your favourite, which I will develop for the final painting
Step 3
I will then aim to get the painting finished within the following week. Once the painting is almost complete, I will message you again to update you on the commission's progress. Please use this time to let me know what adjustments I can make to improve your pet's likeness.
Step 4
Once we are both happy with the final painting, I will sign the artwork and package it alongside a certificate of authenticity. The artwork will be sent via tracked Royal Mail delivery free of charge.

An A3 (42x29.7 cm) commission of an Airedale terrier for £200.
An A2 (59.4x42 cm) commission of a tortoiseshell cat for £350.
